The Commission is pleased to announce the Approved Nominees for Scholarships for Graduates Studies (Local), for the Second Semester intake of A.Y. 2016-2017. This is formalized under the Memo from the Chair – October 21, 2016 and Memo from the Chair – November 7, 2016.

Completeness of documents submitted to the CHED Regional Office (CHED RO) are checked. Incomplete submission shall not be processed.

Scholars with this status on the tracker have PENDING CONFIRMATION OR SUBMISSION/S.

The Letter of Acceptance and Scholarship Undertaking and all submitted supporting documents are validated. The Letter of Acceptance and Scholarship Undertaking and supporting documents are being routed to the respective offices within CHED for approval. Already approved to credit the allowances. Just waiting for release to Scholar’s account. Already credited to Scholar’s account.

 

Summary of Requirements

In line with CHED Memorandum Order Nos. 3 and 36, s. 2016, as amended by CMO No. 4 series of 2017, all approved nominees must be able to comply with the required submission as indicated in the aforementioned policies for the Commission to facilitate the processing of the allowance disbursement.

However, the Commission will not be able to facilitate said disbursement if the following will not be submitted by all approved nominees for A.Y 2016-2017.

As we are preparing for the upcoming academic year 2017-2018, we enjoin all remaining 1st and 2nd semester scholars of AY 2016-2017 with pending requirements to submit the hard copies of these documents on or before 12 April 2017(Wednesday). All pending requirements must be submitted to the neared CHED Regional Office. The Commission shall automatically list non-compliant grantees as Withdrawn from the program.

  1. Letter of Acceptance and Scholarship Undertaking
    • Provisional Notice of Award;
    • Enrollment Form (as validated by DHEI’s Office of the Registrar);
    • Government issued ID of Grantee;
    • Government issued ID of the SHEI President or Head of Institution; and
    • If SHEI signatory is a Head of the Institution (e.g. Campus Director, Chancellor, etc.), attach a letter of authorization from the main HEI President, Board Resolution, or Secretary’s Certificate, whichever is applicable.
    • For Thesis/Dissertation Grantees: Certification of Approval for Thesis/dissertation proposal from HEI, duly signed by Dean of the College or President of the HEI.
  2. Deferment letter by the approved nominee, duly endorsed by the Sending HEI President or Head of Institution, explaining reason for deferment from the term approved and indicating commencement of graduate studies.*
  3. DBP Customer Record Form (CRF) with a valid Government ID photocopy attached

Please ensure to include all of the following documentary requirements in a brown envelope, duly labelled with K TO 12 TRANSITION PROGRAM: SCHOLARSHIPS FOR GRADUATE STUDIES-LOCAL.

2. Download and print six (6) original copies signed by the approved nominee and SHEI President or authorized representative.

Notarization shall be done by the Commission.

Important reminder: Only complete and correct submissions will be processed for disbursement of allowances.

The initial disbursement of allowances shall be made within forty (40) working days upon the CHED RO’s receipt of complete and correct submission.

In the event an approved nominee intends to withdraw from the program due to health issues, pregnancy, or other meritorious reasons acceptable by the SHEI,
a formal letter signed by the SHEI President or authorized representative must be provided in hard copy to the Commission with the following details:

a. Specific reason for withdrawal
b. E-mail address of the SHEI Representative
c. E-mail address of theapproved nominee

Frequently Asked Questions

 

What if I cannot submit by the deadline?

Late submission of requirements will entail delay in the release of scholarship privileges and allowances. Non-submission of requirements will mean withdrawal from the program.

When will I receive allowances regularly?

The first release will be within 40 working days from time complete documents are submitted to the CHED ROs. The succeeding releases will be every last week of the month.

Do I need to submit documents regularly to receive my allowances?

The original and authenticated Enrollment/Registration Form must be submitted at the start of every term. Please be on standby for further instructions.

My approved DHEIs and degree programs are no longer accepting enrollment. What do I do?

An approved nominee may transfer to a new DHEI offering the approved degree program as stated in the provisional notice of award or one that is aligned to your discipline. Please be reminded of the following steps:

1. Check the DHEI list to ensure that your approved program is offered in the DHEI.

2. Letter of Acceptance and Scholarship Undertaking and the Enrollment Form should reflect the degree program and degree program code as assigned to the DHEI.

Can I defer my scholarship to next school year?

Requesting for deferment is highly discouraged. Deferment is subject to the approval of the Commission based on meritorious reasons. If you wish to do so, please send a message stating your reason through the inquiry form.

I won’t avail of the scholarship anymore. Can someone take my place?

No. The scholarship is non-transferable.

Can I withdraw from the scholarship and avail of it another time?

Yes. An approved nominee may withdraw but he/she must be renominated and pass the evaluation to be able to avail the scholarship privileges.
