Calling HEI faculty who want to support senior high schools nationwide!
Faculty of higher education institutions (HEIs) are invited to apply for the Senior High School (SHS) Support Grants during the K to 12 transition period (SY 2016-17 to SY 2020-21).
The SHS Support Grants seek to complement existing SHS support efforts by the Commission. Faculty who undertake these grants will be implementing projects to support SHS through high quality programs and research activities.
The grants can be undertaken as follows:
1. Content Knowledge Development Grants for HEI Units (Unit Grants) – These are for small groups of HEI faculty members who represent a discipline or program. They will design and implement SHS Teacher Development Programs which aim to train and/or mentor SHS teachers.
2. Action Research Grants for Solo HEI Faculty (Solo Grants) – These are for HEI faculty who are given teaching loads in SHS during the transition period. They will design and implement evidence-based and well-documented teaching and learning practices.
Deadline for the first wave of applications is May 2, 2016.
For information about the grant and the application process, please refer to CMO 9, s. 2016. Download application forms and CMO 9, s. 2016 here.
